The Schools Division of Surigao del Norte comprised of eleven (11) districts namely: Alegria, Anao-aon, Bacuag, Claver, Gigaguit, Mainit, Malimono, Placer, Sison, Tagana-an, and Tubod including Surigao del Norte National High School, the biggest secondary school, continued their efforts to secure continuous support from the community and stakeholders with the ultimate goal of ensuring that quality education is provided to all learners, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts and community involvement in the pursuit of educational excellence. Driven by the thrust to make quality education more accessible, three (3) secondary schools were established from CY 2019 to CY 2023 leading to a 1.5% increase in the number of schools from 199 to 202, where 164 elementary schools, 2 Integrated Schools, and 37 Junior High schools with Senior High Schools and 1 Stand Alone provide complete education from kindergarten to Grade 12.
