Gigaquit, Surigao Del Norte –The Gigaquit National School of Home Industries (GNSHI) used the donated school supplies from the Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation (THPAL) for its implementation of the National Learning Camp (NLC) for grades 7 and 8.

The school supplies were donated to GNSHI during the THPAL’s Environment Month Culmination Program on June 30, 2023, in Claver where the school is one of the participants in its different contests that aimed to increase public awareness and care for nature.

All of the 216 NLC learners received notebooks and pens that they can use during the five-week duration of the camp which aims to address the learning loss caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The school is very fortunate to have been given these school supplies that our learners can use. The parents can save money or buy food instead of buying notebooks and pens”, said Marisol Moleta Galido, the Principal IV of GNSHI.

She also added that the donation was an indication of THPAL’s commitment to supporting GNSHI in its endeavors even though it is outside of its mining municipality. The school looks forward to more partnerships with the corporation to provide good quality education to Gigaquitnon learners.
